Few scholars have been more devoted to advancing journalism as a profession than Wolfgang Donsbach. From Wolfgang’s 1975 master’s thesis (“The Role of Mass Communication Research for Professional Training in Journalism”) to his recent article in Journalism (“Journalism as the New Knowledge Profession and Consequences for Journalism Education”), the effort spans nearly four decades.
