Abstract

As stated at the very beginning of this work, sustainability in the context of supply chain management advanced to an omnipresent topic among practitioners and scholars across research disciplines. However, there is yet a limited understanding of how sustainability-considerations affect the business-relationship between suppliers and buyers in a competitive supply chain setting. Through the empirical analysis of sustainability-related business practices in a series of three academic papers, this dissertation makes several major contributions to the existing research stream of sustainable supply chain management across the disciplines of supply chain management, marketing and management, as well as to practitioners in the field.
