Abstract

In July 2006, after the usual complex process of international and national decision-making, 780 German soldiers were deployed to the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo Kinshasa and to Libreville in Gabon. They were part of EUFOR RD Congo which consisted of 2,400 soldiers from the armed forces of several EU countries.
