Zusammenfassung
Anfang 2011 kam es in fast allen arabischen Ländern zu Protesten und Aufständen, denen ähnliche Konfliktstrukturen zugrunde liegen: Autoritäre Regime, die sich meist säkular-nationalistisch legitimieren, verloren massiv an Legitimität, weil sie ihre Versprechen von Unabhängigkeit, Freiheit, Gleichheit und wirtschaftlichem Fortschritt nicht erfüllten.
Es handelt sich um eine überarbeitete Fassung von Stephan Rosiny (2012): „Konflikt und Machtteilung in fragmentierten Gesellschaften: Syrien, Bahrain, Libanon und Irak im Vergleich“, in: Friedensgutachten 2012.
