Abstract

The most agreeable feature of acne vulgaris is its spontaneous disappearance after adolescence. The phenomenon is unexplained; indeed one can hardly think of ways to investigate its cause. Out of many observations we have constructed a theory which while speculative is not without some factual foundation.
