Abstract

This is a new disease created by long-term antibiotic treatment of acne. The diagnosis is easily missed unless suspicion is kept constantly high. Although conclusive identification requires the cultural demonstration of gram-negative bacteria, the informed clinician often recognizes the condition by collating history with observation. A typical gram-negative, folliculitis story would be as follows.
