Zusammenfassung

Neben altbewährten Substanzen werden laufend neue Antibiotika propagiert. Trotzdem gibt es nicht für jede Infektion ein ideales Antibiotikum was oft den Einsatz von Zweier- und Dreierkombinationen notwendig macht. Deshalb sind Basiskenntnisse über Wirksamkeit, Nebenwirkungen und Toxizität erforderhch, besonders auch dann, wenn eine Antibiotikumprophylaxe zur Diskussion steht.
