Zusammenfassung
Die Inkompatibilität ist ein gengesteuertes Phänomen. Die Physiologie der Inkompatibilität wird also im strengen Sinne Gen-Physiologie sein. Zur Untersuchung der physiologischen Mechanismen sind daher nur solche Pflanzen geeignet, bei denen die genetische Grundlage für den Inkompatibilitätsprozeß bekannt ist. Weiterhin wird man wünschen, daß sich die Versuchspflanzen zur Gewinnung eines größeren Versuchsmaterials vegetativ vermehren lassen, also die Herstellung von Klonen gestatten.
