Zusammenfassung

Neuralrohrdefekte wie Spina bifida, Enzephalozele und Anenzephalie stellten in der Vergangenheit die Mehrzahl der kongenitalen Mißbildungen dar. Erhebliche Erfolge in der operativen Behandlung der Spina bifida haben dazu geführt, daß heute ein hoher Prozentsatz der Kinder mit Dysraphien überleben. Diese Kinder benötigen in der Folgezeit ständige ärztliche Betreuung, wobei neben einer begleitenden konservativen Überwachung auch korrigierende Operationen notwendig werden können.
