Part of the book series: Springer Series in Solid-State Sciences ((SSSOL,volume 117))

Abstract

The discovery by Krätschmer and co-workers to use a light-arc method for preparing macroscopic quantities of C60 and C70 has opened the availibity of fullerene physics and chemistry in preparative scale. Using the experiences at the Krätschmer apparatus we developed an equipment for fullerene production with a great variability of preparation conditions. At this equipment we can study the influence of preparation conditions on the yield and the preparation of higher and endohedral fullerenes.
