Abstract
In the scattering approach, electronic transport properties of a sample are expressed in terms of scattering phases or scattering matrices governing the amplitude and phase relations between incoming and outgoing electronic wave functions outside the sample [1–4]. We use the approach to derive expressions for both the diagonal and off-diagonal conductivity of a two dimensional electron gas in a strong perpendicular magnetic field.
