Abstract
The ground-state energy of a system of interacting electrons in a uniform charge-compensating background being subjected to a strong magnetic field has been studied. Many-body techniques have been employed under the assumption that the expectation values of the guiding center coordinates of the cyclotron motion of the electrons form a two-dimensional quantum solid.
