Abstract
In co-operation with the Technical University of Munich’s Department of Mechanical Design, Computervision has developed an interface with VDAFS format geometric data files. This interface has been developed on the series CDS 4000 computer systems running under CADDS 4X applications software. The aim of this article is to describe briefly the VDAFS format and then to discuss in more detail the methods used and the problems encountered during the implementation of the interface.
