Abstract
The crystals in this group show many interesting features which one might expect in a relatively open structure, in particular phase transitions as a function of pressure and temperature. The description of the dispersion curves by shell models with many adjustable parameters is very unsatisfactory, at least in the oxides, while the fluorides exhibit a simpler behavior.
