Abstract
The past three decades have been associated with a dramatic increase in the cure rate for children with malignant disease. This improvement has been the result of, in the main, more intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy regimens which have been associated with increased toxicity, in particular acute side-effects due to myelosuppression, alopecia and nausea and vomiting.
