Zusammenfassung

Mit der Einführung endoskopischer Techniken hat die Chirurgie eine Revolution erfahren. Viele Operationen, die für die Patienten früher eine außergewöhnliche Belastung darstellten, können nun endoskopisch mit minimaler körperlicher und psychischer Beeinträchtigung durchgeführt werden. Dies führte zu einer immer breiteren Anwendung der endoskopischen Chirurgie, nicht zuletzt bei Risikopatienten. Gegenüber konventionellen chirurgischen Verfahren hat die endoskopische Chirurgie folgende Vorteile aufzuweisen: geringerer perioperativer Streß für den Patienten, minimale postoperative Beeinträchtigung aufgrund kleinerer Inzisionen, in der Mehrzahl der Fälle nur mäßige postoperative Schmerzen, deutlich vorteilhafteres kosmetisches Ergebnis, kurze Hospitalisationszeiten, Möglichkeit der ambulanten Durchführung der Eingriffe, raschere Wiederaufnahme der gewohnten Tätigkeiten und Kostenersparnis [6, 10, 15].
