Zusammenfassung

Trotz der guten Erfolge mit Nierentransplantation darf nicht vergessen werden, daß durch die Immunsuppression ein bedeutendes Risiko für Infektionskrank-heiten entsteht. Mehr als 2/3 aller Transplantierten leiden während des ersten Jahres an einer Infektionskrankheit. Infektionen nach Nierentransplantation erzeugen eine große Morbidität und stellen eine der wichtigsten Todesursachen dieser Patienten dar.
