Zusammenfassung
Die neuropädiatrische MRA steckt bislang noch in den Anfängen. So stützt sich dieses Kapitel primär auf die Ergebnisse und Erfahrungen mit 300 neuropädiatrischen MRA-Untersuchungen aus dem eigenen Kollektiv, sowie auf die bislang veröffentlichte Literatur. Dennoch zeichnet sich jetzt schon ab, daß die MRA speziell bei Kindern einige Vorteile gegenüber den etablierten Verfahren zur Gefäßdarstellung hat. Der Hauptvorteil der neuropädiatrischen MRA liegt sicherlich in der Nicht-Invasivität der Methode sowie dem Fehlen neurologischer und vaskulärer Komplikationen, wie sie bei der Katheterangiographie auftreten können. Als Nachteil der MRA hinsichtlich der Nicht-Invasivität ist sicherlich die erforderliche Sedierung und die häufig erforderliche intravenöse Kontrastmittelapplikation zu werten.
