Zusammenfassung
Das kolorektale Karzinom ist das zweithäufigste Karzinom in Europa und den USA. Trotz Fortschritten in Diagnostik und Therapie hat sich die Prognose dieser Erkrankung in den vergangegen 15 Jahren nicht wesentlich verbessert [1]. Die Leber stellt das mit Abstand häufigste Zielorgan hämatogener Fernmetastasen beim kolorektalen Karzinom dar. Lebermetastasen sind die häufigste Todesursache des kolorektalen Karzinoms und reduzieren die mittlere Überlebenszeit auf etwa 5 Monate [2]. Da diese Lebermetastasen zumeist nicht chirurgisch angegangen werden können, kommt neben der systemischen auch die regionale Chemotherapie mit 5-Fluoruracil (5-FU) zur Anwendung [3].
