Zusammenfassung
Bei der Anwendung von Transputern zum Aufbau paralleler Hochleistungsrechner treten zwischen den Prozessorelementen aufgrund der kurzen Verbindungsleitungen kaum Probleme bezüglich der Datenübertragung auf. Die Anwendung von Transputern in verteilten Systemen bringt aufgrund der größeren Entfernungen enorme Probleme, hinsichtlich des asynchronen Handshake Link Protokolls und der damit verbundenen Signalverzögerungszeit, mit sich. Der Beitrag stellt ein Transputer Link Interface (TLI), basierend auf dem Inmos IMS T9000 und dem Fibre Distributed Data Interface (FDDI), vor. Das TLI bietet die Möglichkeit, dezentrale Transputersysteme bis zu einer Distanz von 40 km im VoUduplexverfahren zu verbinden oder an ein FDDI LAN anzubinden. Eine Leistungsanalyse zeigt die Leistungs- und Realzeitfähigkeit des dezentralen Transputersystems.
