Abstract

Deposition of a silver over-layer on the laser ablated Y-Ba-Cu-O thin films was found to enhance the superconducting transition temperature and to decrease the superconducting transition width. The Tc of the Y-Ba-Cu-O/Ag is increased over that of Y-Ba-Cu-O films typically by 0.5-1.5 K and the transition width is usually twice smaller. The importance of the HTc film surface properties is pointed out.
