Zusammenfassung

Angsterkrankungen werden seit der Einführung der dritten Überarbeitung des „Diagnostischen und statistischen Manuals psychischer Störungen“ (DSM-III) bzw. seiner Revision, DSM-III-R (APA 1987), differenzierter gegeneinander abgegrenzt. Die entscheidende Neuerung war die Einführung der klinischen Einheiten Panikstörung und generalisierte Angststörung, die sich phänomenologisch voneinander unterscheiden.
