Abstract
In this paper we present a non-rectangular subband coding method for Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) images. The non-rectangular subband decomposition is a multiresolution image representation scheme. The subimages resulting from this decomposition are coded using a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) based image compression algorithm, and pulse code modulation with runlength coding of zeros.
