Abstract
one unique file format, the Papyrus image file format. We are designing CHAMPOLION, an image file format description language to describe the formats used by the various scanning devices employed in the Hospital. A compiler will read the description files and produce read/write routines in the C programming language for storage and retrieval of the medical images.
