Es gibt auf diesem Gebiet bisher keine Single-Dose Studie. Die Infektionsrate für Mastektomien beträgt in prospektiven Arbeiten ohne Einsatz von Antibiotika 4–8% [18,47], die Rate für Mammareduktionsplastiken beträgt 3% und für Augmentionsplastiken 1% [47]. Die häufigsten Erreger bei einem Infekt sind Staphylokokkus aureus, Staphylokokkus epidermidis und Streptokokken [18].
