Abstract
Damage to forests in Europe, increasing ozone levels in the troposphere, ozone depletion in the stratosphere, respiratory diseases, acidification of lakes, impairment of plant organisms and damage to materials have attracted public attention to the problem of air pollution as a possible cause of all these effects.
