Zusammenfassung
Aus nephrologischer Sicht ist jede chronische intravenöse Arzneimittelapplikation außerhalb einer regulären Hämodialyse im Hinblick auf den zu erwartenden Gefäßverbrauch problematisch. Dies gilt nicht zuletzt für die jüngst etablierte intravenöse Therapie der renalen Anämie mit rekombinantem humanem Erythropoietin (rhEPO). Als Alternative bietet sich prinzipiell der subkutane Applikationsweg an, der durch die Gefäßschonung und die Möglichkeit der Selbstapplikation ausgezeichnet ist. Darüber hinaus könnte die subkutane rhEPO-Verabreichung in Analogie zur Insulintherapie aber auch pharmakokinetische Vorteile aufweisen. Dies setzt allerdings eine gute lokale rhEPO-Verträglichkeit und eine entsprechende Kinetik voraus. Beides sollte im Rahmen der vorliegenden Studie untersucht werden.
