Zusammenfassung
Molekularbiologische Untersuchungen des Glykoproteinhormons Erythropoietin (EPO) sind mittlerweile möglich, da ein hochreines Molekül mit Hilfe der neuen Methoden der Genetik hergestellt werden kann [8, 14]. Im folgenden soll die Strategie dargestellt werden, wie der Prozeß zur Herstellung des Erythropoietins über die sog. rekombinante DNA-Technik entwickelt worden ist. Die angewandte Methode geht von der Isolierung von Erythropoietin aus dem Urin von Patienten mit aplastischer Anämie aus und endet — nach Entschlüsselung des genetischen Codes und Manipulierung des Gens — in der fermentativen Darstellung und Reinigung von ausreichenden Mengen dieses rekombinanten Materials. Dieser Prozeß soll im Detail dargestellt werden.
