Zusammenfassung
In der letzten Dekade ist die Aluminiumüberladung als ein großes Problem chronisch nierenkranker Patienten erkannt worden. Neben einer vitamin-D-resistenten Osteomalazie und einer Myopathie ist die Entwicklung einer Enzephalopathie besonders gefürchtet [6, 13]; bei Patienten unter chronischer Hämodialysebehandlung wurde darüber hinaus eine hypochrome und mykrozytäre Anämie beobachtet, welche nicht auf einem Eisenmangel beruht [10, 11]. Eine verminderte renale Aluminiumausscheidung, die Einnahme aluminiumhydroxidhaltiger Phosphatbinder und ein zu hoher Aluminiumgehalt des zur Hämodialyse benötigten Wassers sind die wesentlichen Ursachen der Aluminiumüberladung chronisch niereninsuffizienter Patienten [6, 13].
