Abstract

This paper explores some of the problems Wang Laboratories has encountered in the development and introduction of graphic metafile-based products. These discussions will range from past product offerings through current developmental activities to future goals. The issues addressed here, were and are, generated by real world, market place oriented pressures. The solutions that were adopted are not necessarily correct from the standard’s point of view, nor even optimal. They were, however, necessary compromises at that time.
