Abstract

Female albino rats (Him: OFA [SD] SPF), including mated animals, were obtained from the “Forschungsinstitut für Versuchstierzucht” of the University of Vienna. The animals were fed a standard diet (Altromin 1314, 1324) and had free access to water. A fasting period of 24 h preceded those experiments which were concentrated on intestinal and pancreatic tissue. In general, the tissues were excised under anesthesia with pentobarbital.
