Zusammenfassung
Der N. thoracicus longus bildet sich in 84% aus Rr. anteriores des 5.–7. Zervikalnervs; in je 8% fehlt die Beteiligung aus C7 bzw. besteht eine zusätzliche Beteiligung des 8. Zervikalnervs (Horwitz u. Tocantins 1938). Der N. thoracicus longus stellt somit keinen Ast des Armplexus dar, sondern entspringt proximal von diesem und ist in seinem weiteren Verlauf dorsal des Armplexus gelegen. Üblicherweise verlaufen die Anteile aus C5 und C6 durch den M. scalenus medius, die aus C7 (und ggf. C8) zwischen diesem und dem M. scalenus minimus. Nach Vereinigung aller Anteile zieht der Nerv zwischen Klavikula und 1. Rippe nach lateral und kaudal und liegt anschließend dem M. serratus anterior auf, dessen einzelne Zacken er mit den Rami musculares innerviert (Abb. 53).
