Abstract

The results of the investigations presented in the previous chapters have provided a description of aspects of the acquisition of gender in German and English. Detailed reports of the findings are to be found in the corresponding sections. The purpose of the following discussion is to draw together the general implications of these findings and to show the direction they indicate for future research.
