Abstract

Calcium antagonists — a new group of antihypertensive drugs — are known to prevent damage of heart muscle due to ischemia, hypoxia, increased sympathetic drive, and other stimuli by preventing the deleterious calcium overload of the cell (for review, see [1, 2])
