Zusammenfassung
Bei den Externa im engeren Sinn soll lediglich eine Wirkung auf der Hautoberfläche oder im Stratum corneum erzielt werden. Dazu gehören vor allem antimikrobielle und keratoplastische Zubereitungen. Bei diesen Wirkstoffen ist die Penetration in die lebende Epidermis nicht erwünscht. Bei den sog. Dermatika strebt man eine Penetration des Wirkstoffs in die lebende Epidermis und in das Corium an. Da die Wirkung in der Haut erfolgen soll, ist eine rasche Aufnahme des Wirkstoffes in das Gefäßsystem nicht erwünscht. Letzteres wird angestrebt bei den sog. Percutantherapeutika, bei denen die Haut nicht das Erfolgsorgan sondern lediglich die Barriere darstellt, die der Wirkstoff auf dem Weg in das unter der Applikationsstelle liegende Gewebe oder die Gefäße überwinden muß.
