Zusammenfassung

Im vergangenen Jahrzehnt haben morphologische Grundlagenforschung und apparative technische Fortschritte zu einem eindrucksvollen Wissenszuwachs bei den neoplasti­schen Colonpolypen gefuhrt. Danach entstehen fast alle Coloncarcinome auf dem Bo­den von Adenomen. Zahlreiche Faktoren der AdenomCarcinomSequenz wurden exakt definiert. Zugleich wurden frühzeitige Diagnosemethoden und risikoarme The­rapieformen entwickelt. Es ist anzunehmen, daß damit ein wichtiger Teilerfolg für die Prävention des Coloncarcinoms erreicht wurde. Unbekannt sind bislang noch die Fak­toren, welche Entwicklung und Wachstum der Adenome fördern. Hierzu sind weitere epidemiologische und metabolische Studien abzuwarten.
