Zusammenfassung
Im vergangenen Jahrzehnt haben morphologische Grundlagenforschung und apparative technische Fortschritte zu einem eindrucksvollen Wissenszuwachs bei den neoplastischen Colonpolypen gefuhrt. Danach entstehen fast alle Coloncarcinome auf dem Boden von Adenomen. Zahlreiche Faktoren der AdenomCarcinomSequenz wurden exakt definiert. Zugleich wurden frühzeitige Diagnosemethoden und risikoarme Therapieformen entwickelt. Es ist anzunehmen, daß damit ein wichtiger Teilerfolg für die Prävention des Coloncarcinoms erreicht wurde. Unbekannt sind bislang noch die Faktoren, welche Entwicklung und Wachstum der Adenome fördern. Hierzu sind weitere epidemiologische und metabolische Studien abzuwarten.
