Zusammenfassung

Nach der Einführung der Fiberendoskopie durch Hirschowitz im Jahre 1957 wurden wenige Jahre später die ersten Versuche unternommen, Fiberendoskope für die morphologische Untersuchung des Kolons zu verwenden und somit eine Inspektion des gesamten Dickdarms zu ermöglichen. Die ersten totalen Koloskopien gelangen mit Hilfe der sog. transintestinalen Leitsonde (PROVENZALE u. REVIGNAS 1966; TORSOLI et al. 1967; OTTENJANN et al. 1969); eine mit Pfadfinder beschwerte, mehrere Meter lange Kunststoffsonde passierte zunächst den Gastrointestinaltrakt. Am distalen Ende dieser Sonde wurde das Fiberendoskop befestigt und peranal bis ins Zökum gezogen. Diese Prozedur erwies sich aber als zu zeitaufwendig und umständlich, als Routinemethode war sie kaum geeignet.
