Zusammenfassung

Die Mortalität des kardiogenen Schocks wird bei medikamentöser Therapie in der Literatur einheitlich mit 85–100% angegeben (1, 2, 3). Mit der intraaortalen Ballongegenpulsation (IABP) läßt sich häufig, zumindest vorübergehend, die Schocksymptomatik beseitigen (4, 5, 6, 7, 8). In neuerer Zeit werden zudem in einigen Zentren akute invasive diagnostische und chirurgische Maßnahmen mit dem Ziel durchgeführt, durch Revaskularisation ischämisches, noch lebensfähiges Myokard vor dem Untergang zu bewahren und in seiner Funktion zu bessern (9,10,11, 12).
