Abstract

The needle is 7 cm long. Accessory arresting devices can limit the depth of penetration to 6, 5, or 4 cm respectively (Fig. 1). The wall of the needle is extremely thin (about 90 µm), and the tip has a characteristic bird’s beak profile. A stylet inside the needle serves to prevent aspiration of the biopsy core into the syringe at the moment of tissue excision (Fig. 2).
