Abstract
A new technique is presented for obtaining intensity spectra, I∥ + I⊥, and polarization spectra, I∥ − I⊥. For complicated molecular spectra the polarization spectra greatly facilitate the assignment of individual branches of molecular bands which differ by the sign of the polarization after an excitation using linearly polarized light.
