Abstract
In this chapter we shall be concerned with fractures that do not, in contrast to those considered in Chapter 9, cut through the whole crust, but have a limited extent and lie wholly within the Earth’s crust. As for their scale, they are extremely varied (from some that stretch for tens of kilometres to cracks of centimetric dimensions).
