Abstract

Since they were originally described around the end of the 19th century, vascular malformations of the spinal cord have been made the object of many classifications, the variety of which is easily understood if one considers that they have been based on the evidence of anatomic observations, both macroscopic and microscopic, and also operative descriptions.
