Abstract
It is impossible to give a detailed history of the literature on the venous system of the posterior fossa. One would have to comment at length on the bibliography which appears at the end of this study to arrive at a complete analysis. We shall nevertheless try to recall to mind the dates and principal papers referring to the radiologic approach of this study.
