Influence of Various Temperature Approximations on Estimates of Field Respiration in a Mountain Community

  • Chapter
Fennoscandian Tundra Ecosystems

Part of the book series: Ecological Studies ((ECOLSTUD,volume 17))

Abstract

Many estimates of the annual respiration metabolism in the field of various species or groups of soil and litter invertebrates have been published in recent years. Data are obtained by combining field census data on biomass, site temperature measurements and laboratory estimates of oxygen consumption.
