Abstract
Observations showing the occurrence of neutral hydrogen, OH and H2CO in a variety of widely distributed interstellar clouds are described. These clouds include those seen in absorption against strong radio sources and the dense dust clouds which produce strong optical obscuration. Such observations provide a useful guide to the formation processes of interstellar molecules.
