Abstract
This chapter combines the results of Chap. 7 and 8 to obtain the uniform asymptotic evolution of the propagated field A(z9t). In accordance with the discussion in Sect. 6.5 (cf. (6.5.8)), the propagated field may be expressed in the form A(z,t = A s (z,t) + A B (z,t + A c (z,t for θ = ct/z ≥ 1, where A B (z,t and A c (z,t are negligible when the first precursor field A s (z,t) is predominant, A s (z,t) and A s (z,t are negligible when the second precursor field A B (z,t is predominant, and A s (z,t) and A B (z,t are negligible when the pole contribution A s (z,t) is predominant.
