Zusammenfassung

Mit der Alzheimer Demenz (AD) müssen wir heute und - aufgrund der steigenden Lebenserwartung - noch stärker in der Zukunft rechnen, mit den individuellen Schicksalen der Patienten ebenso wie mit der wirtschaftlichen Belastung (Souetre et al. , 1999). Wenn in allen anderen Bereichen der Medizin weiterhin so erfreuliche Fortschritte erzielt werden, so kann gerade dies zu einer Zunahme der Patienten mit „primär degenerativer“AD führen.
