Voraussetzung für eine risikoarme Übertragung von Erythrozytenkonzentraten ist deren Auswahl unter Berücksichtigung der ABo-Eigenschaften und der Rhesusfaktoren sowie die Durchführung von Antikörpersuchtests und die Kreuzprobe. Vor jeder Transfusion ist der Bedside-Test obligat.
