Abstract
In this chapter will present ID Expert as a tool that automates the development of computer-based instruction via transactions. ID Expert has built-in instructional design and flexible instructional strategies to assist an author using this tool to concentrate more on the content and display than on how to design instruction. However, this tool also allows an author to manipulate how instruction is presented through changeable parameters of the instructional strategies. We will discuss in detail how instruction is created in ID Expert using transactions and how subject matter is implicitly and explicitly taught through these instructional transactions.
