Zusammenfassung

Dotter berichtete 1969 [16] erstmals über Gefäßstützen zur Behandlung peripherer Gefäß-engen. Sigwart implantierte als erster 1987 ein Stent (Wallstent®Schneider AG) in das Koronargefaßsystem [54]. Kurze Zeit später berichteten Roubin [42] und Schatz [4] über ihre Erfahrungen mit Stents [4]. Das Cook Flexstent (Cook Inc., Bloomington, IN) wurde 1993 in den USA von der FDA für die Behandlung des drohenden und akuten Verschlusses nach Ballonangioplastie zugelassen.
